Morse Park Sports Center (摩士公園體育館) provides two table-tennis tables and one multi-purpose main arena, which can be converted into one volleyball court, one basketball court or four badminton courts. The space is quite limited similar to Cheung Sha Wan Sports Center, which was talked about earlier.
The sports center is located near the Lok Fu MTR station with about five minutes walk. The way to the place needs some familiarity in the area. Please refer to the previous entry “Morse Park Sports Center – Direction”.
The sports center opens from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, except its maintenance days. The maintenance days take place on the first and third Mondays of each month from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; however, the schedule will be changed to the next working day if it falls on a public holiday.
Restrooms and changing rooms at the sports center are relatively small due to the space limitation. The room space is obviously inadequate for visitors’ demand. Also, the cleaning should be done more frequently. However, the rooms are installed with good ventilation, and shower rooms are provided inside.
For the badminton courts, the courts are clean and not slippery. The light is a bit too strong, so the players sometimes cannot see the flight of a shuttlecock clearly. Two sets of spectator stands are provided, and a short bench is located beside each court.
Still like other sport centers in Hong Kong, there are many lines used for different sports drawn on the surface of the multi-purpose arena. Badminton players hence sometimes may get confused and make wrong decisions during their games.
