We are the ‘Sunday Hey-Ha’ team!

Sunday Hey-Ha Badminton Club is a medium-sized badminton group located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The club was founded in 2009 and began with just a small group of friends. The group had four and five players at the beginning but become bigger through word of mouth among friends of the membership. Now, there are more than 20 people regularly playing on three or four courts each week. Apart from weekly exercises, a special activity like the “Sunday Hey-Ha Competition Night” is held three times a year to let the members challenge against one another. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy with the friendly atmosphere at the club every Sunday evening.

Hi Macoy, you’re welcome to join my Sunday Hey-Ha group. Please feel free to come in anytime you want. However, since the Nares Court will be closed from April 13-21 (next two Sunday), there will be no session during the said period. So, you may join us on April 28. See you on courts 🙂

        Hi Sarunlee,
Can you suggest me what is your schedule and where do you play normally?
Or maybe you can give me any number to contact so that i could go to the court?

Maybe i will start join by next month because this month i am still bit busy.

        Thank you.

Ive been playing there for six months and the players are very friendly.
However i would advise any western players NOT to go as the organization of the rotation of players is a joke and you sit there bored for 3 hours only playing 3 matches.
Friends like to play with each other and dont involve or encourage new comers to play
DONT GO …there are many other better organized groups in Bangkok

Sorry for making you feel disappointed and keeping you waiting too long for games today. I, as the organizer, take full responsibility for this. I’m not making an excuse but have to provide facts.

      – You’re right. You can play only three matches (six games) for three hours. We have 20 people playing on three courts (two courts for the first hour). You are on the average number of games that everyone has played today. Only one member can manage to play five matches. I played four matches. Some played only two. You may see that some of them used a lot of shuttlecocks. This means nothing as they usually have 2-3 shuttlecocks for just two games.

-You’re right. There are problems about the rotation of players. I’m not an expert. For me, it’s never easy to give everyone good games. What I can do is to try my best to balance skills of each player, so everyone can enjoy the games (hopefully..).

-Yes, there are many well-organized badminton clubs in Bangkok. You’re so right. Sorry, my club can’t serve all your needs.

Lastly, I’m not running a business here. I’ve got nothing from doing this, except for doing things I love. I also pay for games like everyone in the club do. It’s just a place where anyone can come and enjoy badminton together. Sorry again and thanks for the comment.
